Project experiance
Selma has been involved in numerous ski touring projects in Antarctica, serving as transportation and a base for scientists and filmmakers. In 2021, for 30 days, it supported the BBC film crew in the production of a series about penguins in South Georgia.
World Guinnes Record
The record of reaching 78°43'926''S and 163°40'957''W, achieved by Selma Expeditions, a Polish steel ketch yacht commanded by Captain Peter Kuźniar with a crew of 10, on 12th February 2015, stands as the southernmost navigation record.
Great sea worthy
Selma is designed to navigate the challenges of the Southern Ocean. Simultaneously, it possesses extensive navigational experience in the ice regions of the Arctic and Antarctica, covering tens of miles through dense pack ice each year. It is also under the supervision of the Polish Register of Ships and undergoes regular inspections and maintenance.
